A birthday celebration for the oldest person in the world was held today in Brooklyn.
Susannah Mushatt Jones turned 116, breaking a Guinness World record. She celebrated surrounded by family and friends at the Vandalia Senior Center.
Susannah Jones has held the World’s Oldest Woman record title since 2014.

Jones has been calling New York her home for the past 90 years. She was born on July 6, 1899 in Alabama. Jones says being nice to others and having the support of her family is her secret to longevity. (Constanza Gallardo/WNYC)
